COMPASSION
Luke.7.13 – When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Compassion is the expression of love towards people that are disadvantaged either by their conditions or experiences. Compassion is a product of love. It is a virtue every Christ follower should exhibit.
We live in a broken world and people have diverse experiences daily. We must learn to empathize with them. Little can be done for people without compassion. For whatever we do without it may amount to nothing, as it will only boost our ego.
The opposite of compassion is to be judgmental. Each time we are judgmental, we forget that we have received grace. Compassion helps us to be tender towards others.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep (Rom.12.15).
The height of Christian experiences is not to do miracles but to walk in love. We must of necessity learn to have compassion for people. They are all God has on the earth.
When last were you genuinely compassionate towards others?
