Just a little help

For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward (Mark.9.41).

When it comes to doing good to others, we have grades of the quality of help we render. While it will be celebrated that a person gave out a car gift, it is assumed to be more than offering a cup of water to another. This isn’t always the case with God. At a time during offering time, the person that gave the most, gave the least amount. According to Jesus, she gave all that she had. With God, no help rendered to another, especially in the kingdom, is too small. He will reward even the water you gave others to drink.

Waiting to have more than enough before doing good is to do no good. Nobody has enough at any given time. Human beings by nature always want to have more. Therefore, do good to all men at all times, no matter how little it is, just do it. Jesus promised a reward to anyone who considers his followers to do any good to them. Again, this shows the commitment of God to his followers and those who honour His words. Do you still consider that help too little? Just do it.

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, “Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? (Matt.25.37).

Imagine how people will be getting rewards in heaven and asking, “when did I do these goods to qualify for these rewards?” Well, the little helps count with God. It is important to note that heaven will contain every class of people, in fact, there will be no class in heaven’s reward, based on our class on earth. It is the motive and quality of the works that will determine the reward. No matter how small it is, just do it.
