Fruitfulness
“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD (Isa.54.1).
We are in a beautiful season when we see plants blossoming. The economic trees are best appreciated as they begin to produce fruits because there is a satisfaction that comes with fruitfulness. However, what do you do when the fruits aren’t showing up yet? When you have laboured and there seems to be no result, what do you do? Rejoice!
It could be difficult to rejoice when it seems the desired results are not showing forth but rejoice in the fact that faithful is he that promised and He will do it. Know that God cannot lie, if you have done your part, then you will bring forth fruit in due season. Possessing the right attitude is very instrumental to enjoying the promises of God. You shall be fruitful. No doubt about that because faithful is he that promised and He will make it good.
Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation (Hab.3.17-18).
While the things we see have strong influence on us, never forget that we walk not by sight but by faith. Look away from the present reality into the future possibilities. That is the reality you are walking into hence focus is required with an attitude of thanksgiving.
I remember the story of a lady whose womb was removed due to medical challenges she had. Then came the word of the Lord through a servant of God that she would deliver the following year. She began dancing right in the service. Her husband, doctor and the Pastor knew she had no womb again. True to it, she came for dedication with her baby the following year. God is faithful!
