Avoid Entanglements
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage (Gal.5.1).
Liberty is the hallmark of the believer who has been set free from the bondage of sin and sorrows. Just as it presumptuous for any insect to assume the world is free for explorations and therefore fly with reckless abandon, same way it is flawed for any believer to think our freedom has no limits. Why? There are cobwebs that could trap the insect and kill it. Same way there are entanglements that could suffocate the believer, if allowed on the race to the end.
The major entanglement is the carelessness of taking spiritual things for granted. It is a sign of serious problem of pride. When a believer no longer prays, study the Word, fast and all that, these are signs of deeper issues. It soon graduates to assumptions about sin and then loss of convictions. The charge to you is to remain steadfast like a soldier that is on duty. Vigilance is required to beat distractions. Entanglements will cause delay in the journey of your faith.
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier (2Tim.2.4).
The admonition is to keep focus and avoid all distractions because we are in a warfare and pleasing our master is a priority. Distractions will keep you longer in the same spot, and ruin your relationship with God. Never let in any form of it. Keep your focus and success it yours. Amen.
