Be at Alert
Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them… Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Luke.12.37,40).
The reality of the return of Christ is lost on many and this is evident in the way they live their lives without respect for the day of reckoning. There is this amnesia about the return of Christ with people saying, “He promised to return soon but where is he now?” Well, he said, nobody knows the time except his Father in heaven. All we know for sure is this, Christ will surely return.
Having left us a promise of return, it’s expected that we prepare ourselves for the day and time of his coming back. This is where many have left off to do what they please. One of the basic requirements in our preparation, is to be found doing exactly what we are have been created to do. That is like being found at our duty post. Anything outside this will be treated as disobedience.
…knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” (2Pet.3.3-4).
Therefore, it is expected that people will trivialize the coming of Christ but we must avoid it at all cost. The best approach to it is to be about what you’re called to do with a lazer beam focus. It means you must seek to know your purpose of existence if you have to walk in it. Be vigilant, stay ready everytime. No time to waste. Shalom!
