Focus

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1Tim.4.12
).

Paul told Timothy, “don’t allow people’s disrespect and insult stop you.” People relate with you from different points of view. Some will respect and honour you because they respect themselves, others will despise you because they can’t see value in themselves. It is up to you to maintain your focus. Your ability to stay true to your vision and commitment is vital in setting the pace for others to follow you. However, no one can stop you without your permission. That is the reason Paul warned Timothy. If you live by the praises of people, you will fall at their criticism.

There are many reasons people despise others but the common denominator is lack of understanding. The major aim of every opposition you will ever face is to distract or derail you. Give the control of your life to God but never let human beings get the remote control. Submitting the control to people is the worst experience you will ever have, rather, be an example. Showing example will set you apart from the pack.

But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man (John.2.24-25).

Jesus laid an example of focus that can help vision minded people. He was focused on his assignment that nothing could distract him. Be careful not to go about seeking approval from people. You don’t need their validation if you must remain focused. Stay true to your course and attain your dream. Success is yours in Jesus name. Amen.
