Good or Bad?

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away (Matt.13.47 – 48).

The goodness of God is not foolishness, when He seems to permit what is unthinkable to the ordinary mind. That the kingdom of heaven permits all kinds of people to be gathered together without serious scrutiny doesn’t mean all is well. The good and the bad coming together is an opportunity for the bad to change their ways. It is a common place today seeing many masquerading as believers while they commit atrocities. God is very much aware of your activities.

However, why do you continue taking chances? Should you wait to be told that you have wasted your time claiming to serve God? That nobody can point you out as an unfaithful follower of Christ is not an excuse to remain unfaithful. There is a need to reexamine your ways and make amends before it is too late.

“Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven (Matt.7.21).

The acceptable attitude is obedience to the will of the Father. It goes beyond saying that calling God’s name doesn’t solve the problem, adhering to his instructions as spelt out in the scriptures is the acceptable thing to do. It is not enough being a church member, it requires much more. Be sure where you’re headed at the end of your journey.

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim. 2:19).

Don’t wait until the end to avoid surprises. While we are living, it is a good time to ascertain where you belong. A clear sign that you belong to God is the desire to do away with sin. A change of taste from lustful appetite will be clearly visible to everyone around you. Do you have that experience?
