Hot or Cold?
So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth (Rev.3.16).
The decision for the kingdom of God has no middle ground. It is either you are for or against the kingdom agenda. This agenda transcends individual, denomination or personal interests. It demands unapologetically making your stand known. It is either you are hot or cold, there is no fence on which to stand. God would prefer you identify as either hot or cold.
A creature that is neither bird nor rat is called bat. What do you call a person who is neither fully committed to Christ nor committed to the world? Nothing is as confusing as indecision. This attitude was so annoying to the prophet that he called out the Israelites.
And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word (1Kgs.18.21).
To a large extent, the decision to stay true to Christ or resign to fate is a personal choice but you must make it. Even your refusal to decide is a decision not to follow. As Jesus began to see the determination of the heart of the people, he said to them,
He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work (Rev.22. 11-12).
