How God Blesses
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it (Mal.3.10).
The caveat here is that this post is not about tithe. The fact that God blesses people is like a mystery to some and today’s writing is meant to highlight some ways God answers prayers when we request for blessings. The fact remains that material things are not spent in heaven. They are temporary things that are used and left on the earth, with only eternal value when they are used by believers to meet the needs of God’s people, kingdom activities and humanity. However, God is interested in the way His children acquire material things. The process must be consistent with the principles of God.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons God will answer His people when they call on Him to meet their needs. He supplies through other people miraculously. He could place a burden to meet your need on someone else. But that is not a natural way of living. Hence, He blesses the works of your hands. “The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow” (Deut.28.12). This means you have to be engaged with something irrespective of how little it is. To bless nothing is to have nothing in result.
When God answers prayers, He sometimes gives you a unique or timely idea that, if followed diligently will produce tremendous results. “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day (Deut.8.18). God gives power to get wealth. This means the believer must understand the process and patience of converting ideas to substance to make profit. That has to be learnt through studies and tutelage but it is needful.
Therefore, it is not enough to pray for God’s blessings. It is important to also prepare for it. Prayers is like asking for rain, preparations is like getting containers for collecting the water and umbrella to cover yourself. Do you have the capacity to receive the answers to your prayers? May the Lord grant you according to your heart desires in Jesus name.
