Listen and Live

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God
(Rev.21.3).

Instructions, when followed can preserve life. It is the function of the ears to hear and the heart to understand. Life has more meaning when the sense organs are rightly used. Listening is a skill that is fast losing relevance in the society today. Perhaps it is due to the increasing noise in the society. We listen to hear God speak to us. We also listen to understand people’s opinions.

Listening shouldn’t only be about hearing but understanding. Don’t listen to react. Don’t listen to reply. Don’t even listen just to learn, listen to understand. Listen to live. Words spoken by God have the intrinsic power to be fulfilled. A word from God can change you forever.

The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life (John 6:63).

Every time I have the privilege to counsel believers, I often ask them, “what has God told you?” That has shown to me that most people hardly spend quality time to hear God when they pass through situations in life. The good news is that, God has something to say to you about everything you experience. Do you care to listen? Sometimes you see people and you can tell they are working contrary to what God told them. Listen and Live.
