Loved Up

Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.(2Thess.3.5).

To be loved by God is not enough if you don’t know the depth and reach of that love. It is like a child whose parents left an inheritance for but he was on the street begging for daily bread. Apostle Paul’s prayers is that God will bring you into a deeper understanding by way of showing and making you realize the extent to which God loves you, and has been tolerant towards you even till now.

The effect of Paul’s prayers is for increase in knowledge and better understanding. This will produce a result that is undeniable in the life of the recipient of such Love. You cannot know God’s love and remain the same. It will change your perception and in turn move you to love others or yourself. Each time you see a believer that behaves less than what the scriptures described, the problem is lack of knowledge of identity. When you know better, you’ll act better.

…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Eph.3.17-19).

There are dimensions to the love Christ has for the church but this will only be known by revelation hence Paul’s prayers. The first step is that Christ may dwell in your heart by faith then you can be rooted and grounded in love. May you experience the depth of God’s love beyond here and now.
