No to Shame
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” (Rom.10.11).
There is a certainty to our covenant relationship with God that makes predictability possible. Due to antecedents of His dealings with the past saints, His promises and from experiences of past people, we can safely conclude that God does not put His people to shame. This should answer the recent slogan among the millenials that, “God no go shame us.”
Shame is a repraoch or dishonor which either comes as a punishment for wrong decisions or actions that betray ethical standards and violate moral codes. The thing with God is that there is forgiveness though consequences may abound. God does not set out to put His people to shame.
You can rest on that assurance.
“Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore (Isa.54.4).
There is an assurance of overcoming situations that has crushed you in reproach. What you need to do is to have confidence in Him that has spoken. Also, keep away from violating the scriptures or moral laws but when you do, repent and move on. There is a promise of honour that cancels every shame you can ever know. Believe it and experience it.
The certainty with which a soldier in training carries himself knowing that he will be commissioned is the same with which you need to move about knowing you shall not be put to shame.
