Rejoice in the Lord

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! (Phil.4.4).

We have witnessed very difficult times since the onset of Covid-19 that has ravaged the nations of the earth. A major characteristic of such times is the reality of the pain people endure. It can sometimes be too much with no apparent reason thanksgiving. However, we must learn to rejoice even in the midst of difficulties. Rejoice in the lord and again I will say, rejoice. That is the admonition of Paul.

Rejoicing or thanksgiving is an attitude of the Redeemed that must be cultivated regardless of the prevailing circumstances. Rejoice always. It is a strategy for victory amidst pain as well as a weapon of warfare in times of battle. Joy is a fruit of the spirit which is not dependent on happenings around. Let this mind of joy be in you even when the times are good. Build your spiritual stamina to include expressing joy everytime. The joy of the Lord is what strengthens you in time of trouble.

Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Neh.8.10)

Irrespective of what you are going through today, do not sorrow. The Lord will cause you to be fruitful. You will forget the days of your mourning. There is a brighter future ahead for which you must learn to rejoice. Amen.
