Supreme God
“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (Rev.4.11)
The world has tried all it could to deny the existence of God but everyday we are confronted with the reality of not only His existence but His supremacy. He is preeminently above and ahead of all that exists in the world.
The question that often arise about the supremacy of God is why do evil keeps happening if there is God. As you would know, no manufacturer made an automobile to have accident. Every car was factory tested before released into the market. The car also comes with a manual of the care, speed limits and other rules of its maintenance. Yet, accident happens daily either due to negligence or outright breaking of the rules guiding the use of the automobile. Same goes with the earth.
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there (Ps.139.7 – 8).
God is not only supreme, He is immanent. He is everywhere in everything. He cannot be ignored neither can He be wished away. The stars, moon, sun, bodies of water and every created thing speaks of His greatness. He is above all things, before all things, beneath all things and yet remains God. None of the things He created can deny Him outrightly. They serve His eternal purpose without a second thought.
When Jonah attempted to run away from God, he forgot all these. The water, the ship, the fish all functioned to remind him of God’s assignment. When next God speaks to you, remember He has control over all things. He is before, in, after and uphold all things by His word. Amen.
