The Brokenhearted

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed (Luke.4.18).

The totality of the redemptive work has provisions for all classes of people. It includes the spiritually dead, emotionally traumatised, psychologically helpless and those sick in the body. Basically, all these groups of people need love to be well. Those who have received the love of Christ are called to reach out to these people needs in love. The Brokenhearted are those that have been disappointed, battered and beaten.

We stand at a crossroad as a nation as we watch peaceful protesters brutalized. The Brokenhearted needs healing. Be an agent to touch a life today. The beauty of this assignment is this it is neither by power nor by might but by the spirit of God. Some of the ways of healing is through prayers, counselling and offering shoulders to lean on. God uses people as hands and legs as means of reaching others. It is evil to turn deaf ears to the needy when you could offer support. You’re anointed to serve.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him
(Acts.10.38).

If you are born again, you have been anointed to heal the Brokenhearted. Let’s get to work in releasing people from the bondages of hardship, oppression and pain. There is a balm in Gilead that provides soothing for the wounded. May we truly be channels of healing to the sick world. God is with you therefore, you are a useful vessel.
