The Life God rewards
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works (Matt.16.25, 27).
The principle of the kingdom of God runs contrary to the human wisdom in many ways. The law of self preservation or enlighten self interest fails the first test in the kingdom. Our call is to let go of every desire to preserve ourselves. We are to let go of self help and embrace self sacrifice, if we must be qualified to receive a reward for the life lived.
The driving motive for wanting to live as your instinct dictates, is the overriding thought that you ultimately know what is good for you. This is not always correct. There was a predeterminate counsel, prior to everyone’s birth which must be fulfilled, if our lives will amount to anything before the Almighty God. To live on your own terms is to jettison the divine purpose.
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
(Matt.16:26).
There is yet to be a price fixed for the soul of an individual. Life is worth more than the material possessions we can gather in our lifetime. Therefore, it is important to know how best to please God and serve humanity. This is because everything we do will be rewarded in eternity. Our time on earth is only an opportunity to invest for the life hereafter.
