Consistency

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1Cor. 15:58).

The Christian race is not a sprint but a Marathon. It requires endurance to remain consistent for a long period of time. Consistency is strength of character to do same thing over a period of time without wavering. It doesn’t necessarily mean it is easy or sweet but the tenacity to hold on irrespective of the challenges is what matters.

The admonition of Paul is that we remain unmovable doing what we know is right with so much energy and enthusiasm in God’s work, since we are convinced that we are not wasting our time. Now, are you convinced that you are not wasting your time in serving God? Some believe that it is only God that knows the people serving him. Hmm. If you don’t know, why are you wasting your time?

For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do (Heb. 6:10).

The first thing to settle in your heart is that God is not unfair in His dealings. He deals with people appropriately in terms of rewarding His followers for their commitments and dedication. As a matter of principle, He does not owe anybody for their service. He is very generous with rewards. I date say, He is consistent in playing His part of the bargain.
