FOCUS
Luke 9:51. And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem…
Many people find it extremely difficult to maintain focus in life. There are many reasons responsible for this but majorly it arises from a mind that is not settled. They want to do too many things at the same time. They are neither here nor there. They stand for nothing in particular. They are for everybody and not for anybody.
A great man once said,
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before (Phil. 3:13).
Most great people are people who do “one thing” in life. I am aware that some people are multi-talented (Often called Renaissance Personality) but even such people are associated with just one thing. Focus is key if your life must count on this side of eternity. You have just one life to live but how you live it will matter in eternity.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live (Deut. 30:19).
Focus is best seen in the daily choices you make. How consistent are you in making the right choices? Do you really think your mind is made up to follow through with your decisions diligently?
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matt. 6:24).
Are you truly determined to follow the Master – Jesus? Then stay focused.
