The Lion Way
A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turns not away for any (Prov.30:30).
The lion is rightly referred as the king of the jungle. It seems fearless and often feared by most animals. The size of lion is nothing compared to other animals but it never turns back from battle with any beast of the forest. The lion models focus and tenacity. It has patience to study, calculate, attack and bring down most of its prey without failing. The major weapon against a lion in the course of hunting would be distraction. That means, if a lion is distracted in the course of hunting, it will fail to achieve its aim.
The believers follow the Lion of the tribe of Judah, an epitome of strength and might, hence we have ingrained capacity to be strong as lion. The wisdom here is the ability to focus on a task that otherwise could be daunting but with focus, you can lay hold on it in the most vulnerable place, like the lion would the neck of its prey and deal a final blow on it. Nothing intimidates a lion to turn back from a prey. It remains committed to finishing what it started, unless something happen otherwise.
Also, the tenacity of the believer must be seen to play a part if fulfilling our God given assignment. Several years ago, a man set out to the place of his assignment as a missionary, after 7years of labour, there was no fruit so he returned to his home country and became a drinker. He backslided out of discouragement. Then the son of the priest in the community he labored had an encounter with Christ, got Born Again and went for study in the country of the missionary. He searched for the man but found him a drunk. His heart was broken but he got the man restored. The work of faith, charity or purpose requires doggedness to fulfil.
The wicked flee when no one pursues them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion (Prov. 28:1).
The righteous consistently carry the gene of confidence, not in himself but in the One who called him to serve. There is a confidence that comes from knowing that you have a backup. That helps to dare the impossible and reach for the top when all hope seems lost. Have you backed out due to fear? It is time to challenge what challenged you in times past. You have what it takes in Christ to dare the impossible.
