He is Lord

That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. (Isaiah 45:6).

Rarely does God do things to prove Himself to people. He exists on His own terms and has given everyone the power to decide either to believe in Him or not. However, He loves everyone and wants all to come to Him, hence he sent Jesus to die for all. Often, there are things and people that stop others from either acknowledging Him or believing in Him. He remains the same and cannot deny Himself. Like the text said, there is none beside Him.

In the course of living, there are things that struggle or compete for your loyalty in the same measure God would have you acknowledge Him. Topmost of the competing things is Mammon (god of money). It has a system that is parallel to God’s system. It demands loyalty, commitment, energy and sometimes your health to be with you. Unfortunately, it has limit to what it can do. While many may care less about the limitations of money, there is an eternal abode where money will fail. Also, money has never proven to be satisfactory to any possessor of it. Same goes for power and other self invented gods.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all (Eccl.12.13).

There is hardly anything beyond our existence that has interested human beings to research. All the efforts are pumped into making life better here on earth but the conclusion of the matter, according to the wise man is to fear God and keep His commandments. This is worth all your attention. Consider it.
