Prayer that Works

Matt.6.6 – But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

In the next few days, I will be presenting to you the rewards a believer will get for serving faithfully according to the pattern laid out by Christ. Beginning with prayers, we are encouraged to pray in the secret place. This does not only mean praying behind a closed door but not making prayers just a public show, tending to satisfy only the needs that we have. It must be a matter of the heart known only to God.

There is a promise of answers to prayers when we offer it as a burden and delight to God. It is the regular communion to tender our heart desires, concerns and needs to God in a conversation, with the knowledge of God’s plans for us in his word and the willingness to accept His response in utmost good faith.

The promise of God is to openly reward anyone who spends the time in seeking Him in secret. The importance of open reward is to demonstrate the nature of God in honoring his children unreservedly. How well have you maximised the secret place in communion with God? It holds so much promises that no believer should let go of this external rewards of seeking God in prayers.

The saints must yet discover the secret of the secret place of prayers. And also seek to enjoy the daily constant allure of the secret place for maximum fellowship and worship.
